Reza Aslan is one of the most popular and richest Teacher who was born on May 3, 1972 in Tehran, Tehran Province, Iran. His widely translated works, No god but God: Evolution, Origins, and Future of Islam (published 2005) and Zealot, The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth (2013) are the most well-known works of this Iranian-born religious scholar and author.

His maternal aunt, Leila Farouhar had a very successful career as a pop-singer.

Aslan’s family came to the United States from Tehran in 1979, fleeing the Iranian Revolution. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He attended Del Mar High School in San Jose, and graduated class of 1990. In the early 1990s, Aslan taught courses at De La Salle High School in Concord, California.

In August 2000, while serving as the Truman Capote Fellow at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, Aslan was a visiting faculty member in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Iowa.
